Cautions for Use of Calcium Hypochlorite

Risk overview
Health hazards: The dust has irritation to conjunctiva and respiratory tract, and can cause dental damage. Skin contact can cause moderate to severe skin damage.
Burning and Explosion Danger: This product is combustion-supporting and irritating.
Emergency measures
Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothes immediately and rinse the skin thoroughly with soapy water and clear water. Seek medical treatment.
Eye contact: Lift the eyelids and rinse them with flowing water or saline. Seek medical treatment.
Inhalation: Quickly leave the scene to the fresh air. Keep the respiratory tract open. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, artificial respiration should be carried out immediately. Seek medical treatment.
Intake: Drink plenty of warm water and vomit. Seek medical treatment.
Fire protection measures
Harmful combustion products: chloride, calcium oxide.
Fire extinguishing methods: Fire fighters should wear gas masks and full body fire fighting clothes to extinguish fire in the upper wind direction.
Fire extinguishing agent: direct current water, mist water, sand.
Emergency Leakage Treatment
Emergency treatment: isolate leaking contaminated areas and restrict access. It is suggested that emergency personnel wear dust mask (full cover) and anti-virus clothing. Do not contact leaks directly. Leakage should not be exposed to reductants, organic substances, flammable substances or metal powders.
Small leakage: To avoid dust, use clean shovels to collect in dry, clean, covered containers and transfer to safe places.
Large leakage: covered with plastic cloth and canvas. They are then collected and recycled or transported to waste disposal sites for disposal.
Operational Disposal and Storage
Operating Notes: Closed operation, strengthen ventilation. Operators must be specially trained and strictly abide by the operating rules. Operators are advised to wear headgear type electric air supply filter dust-proof respirator, rubber clothing and neoprene gloves. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the workplace. Keep away from flammable and combustible materials. Avoid producing dust. Avoid contact with reducing agents and acids. Handling should be light loading and unloading to prevent damage to packaging and containers. Vibration, impact and friction are prohibited. Equipped with the corresponding variety and quantity of fire fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment. Empty containers may retain harmful substances.
Storage Notes: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Storage temperature does not exceed 30 C and relative humidity does not exceed 80%. Packaging should be sealed and not exposed to air. It should be stored separately with reducing agent, acid and easy (combustible) fuel. Mixed storage should not be avoided. It should not be stored in large quantities or for a long time. The storage area should be equipped with suitable materials to accommodate leaks.
